Description

The original arm64 build starts with error

/bin/filebrowser: line 1: syntax error: unexpected ")"

Additional Information

The original image for arm64 contains amd64 binary because the ${TARGETARCH} ARG is set to amd64.
The root cause: the default value is overrides buildx variable.

How to check the issue

  1. Modify docker-compose for ARM64 by
entrypoint:
  - /bin/sh
stdin_open: true
tty: true
  1. Start the container and check block of bites for binary file
$dd if=/bin/filebrowser bs=1 skip=18 count=2 2>/dev/null | od -An -t x1
  1. For amd64 it will be 3e00 and for arm64 it will be b700

The second check

Or simply add RUN echo "The target architecture is ${TARGETARCH}" to Dockerfile.
And then check the ACTION logs for linux/arm64 build.
Dont forget to clear traces to remove additional image layer.

Thank you very much @towa48 for this contribution and the detailed analysis. The fix addressing TARGETARCH shadowing during multi-platform builds, the executable permissions for JSON.sh, the updated Docker actions, and the documentation enhancements are all verified and validated.
